    Problem with fuel pump electrical

Think I solved my own problem. I messed around with the connector some more and finally got it apart and found that one of the prongs looks to be burnt or corroded pretty bad. So looks like I pretty much just have to get a new wire harness for the fuel tank.

    Problem with fuel pump electrical

I've been having some problems with my fuel pump not running. I tore everything apart and found that the pump is fine but one of the electrical connectors for the pump in the tank seems to have a bad connection sometimes. At first I could only get the pump to run if I held the wires one way, but...

    Help diagnosing oil leak

Thanks for the reply, that's what my dad said it probably was too. It's not too bad for now so I'm just gonna keep a real close eye on the oil level until the next oil change which will be pretty soon, that way I only have to drain the oil once.

    Help diagnosing oil leak

I've had my truck for a while now and it seems like the bottom of the transmission is always wet with oil. It can't be a huge leak because whenever I check the tranny or engine oil it's not really that low. I haven't looked into it too much but anyone have a suggestion on what I should check...

Problem with brakes on 96 k1500

I took it down a dirt road and got the abs to run, but after bleeding all four corners it didn't make a difference, I might just need to do it a couple more times, maybe with some kind of pump like ironhead said. Something weird happened when we tried bleeding them though, I pumped up the brakes...

Problem with brakes on 96 k1500

Yeah I did bleed the master cylinder before I put it on, and I bled all four corners a couple times after it was on. I don't have a scanner though so I'll try that dirt road trick tomorrow and see what happens.

Problem with brakes on 96 k1500

There's something up with the brakes on my truck and I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. When the truck isn't running the brakes pump up and feel pretty solid but when it's running they're pretty soft. And while it's running, if you don't pump the brakes and just slam on them the...

    Torsen diff. Question

Alright so I'll save up for a new axle first.

    Torsen diff. Question

I'm not too worried about a loose back end in the snow and I have 4x4 if I need it. The ones on that site looks pretty nice and I think I found one for my 10 bolt axle on there, but if I do get one should I try and get a more heavy duty axle first?

    Torsen diff. Question

I just saw this video on torsen diffs and I was wondering, how hard would it be to put one on my truck? Also would it be worth it and how strong are these kinds of diffs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEiSTzK-A2A

    Question about torsion bars

Alright thanks for the replies, I'll do a little research, see if I can figure something out.

    Question about torsion bars

I know that the torsion bars are the "spring" for the front suspension with IFS and it has a shock to dampen it, but, with the stock a arm setup, could you get rid of the torsion bars and replace the shock with something like an offroad shock that "springs" and dampens like in this picture? or...

    Question about IFS suspension lift

I'm not really that concerned about it and if I do the 2-3" lift I'm just going to drop it so I don't eat cv axles. Also I don't know if I'm going to go higher later, but whatever I do I'm not going to body lift it, personally I don't like the looks of body lifts.

    Question about IFS suspension lift

I know it's to keep the cv angles from getting too extreme and I'll probably drop the differential when I lift it, just because I'm probably not going to lift it much more that 2 or 3 inches, and I don't plan on doing any heavy offroading where I really have to worry about clearance too much...

    Question about IFS suspension lift

I was looking at the rough country lifts and I was wondering if there is a way to get around lowering the front differential? I'm only planning on doing the 2-3in lift so I know it won't drop it a lot and it's not a big deal, but I'd like to avoid lowering it just to get a little more clearance...

    Frame questions

Well I can patch it for free because I have plenty of scrap metal and a welder and there's only one hole that needs to be fixed for inspection, but I know there's plenty of rust starting all over the frame so I figure just run it for this winter and swap it in the spring. And like Birchyboy...

    Frame questions

Thats true I didn't think about that. I just don't have much money to spend right now, but depending on how much it'll cost I'll probably try and do that. Thanks for the idea.

    Frame questions

I don't really have money to replace it now, and I'm going to wait at least until after this winter to do it. I'd just like to get an idea of how much one would cost. So if you want to ask them how much they want for it I'll see if I could do something next spring.

    Frame questions

I have to get my truck inspected this month and I've been going around fixing things and I found a rust hole in the frame. It isn't too big so I can fix it and it'll be good for a while and pass inspection, but the whole frame is going to rust sooner or later because I run the truck in the...

    Thinking about an engine swap

How much bigger is the 6bt? Would it be harder to fit one? I just looked and I could get a 6bt for cheaper than a 4, and no matter what I use I'll probably strengthen the frame.

    Thinking about an engine swap

I was thinking about going with the 6bt, but the 4bt is lighter so I wont have to worry about beefing up the frame and suspension as much to handle the added weight.

Question about little box by front wheels

Alright thanks I'll be sure to fix that soon, don't need the airbags going off.

Question about little box by front wheels

Can someone tell me what this little box is? It's mounted to the frame by the front wheel, looks like it's for electrical or something. The one on the passenger side came off the mount and it looks like the previous owner tried to silicone it to the frame but it didn't work so it's just flopping...

    Thinking about an engine swap

I didn't even consider the weight before, but now that I think about it the cummins 4bt sounds like it would be a good swap. Also it will probably be easier to drop in an engine that's a little smaller, and I looked up the power specs and they're pretty close. From what I can tell the 4bt makes...

    Thinking about an engine swap

I did a little research and it looks like most people don't think the 6.5 is a very good engine. And I looked at the cummins 4bt and I think it's a little small. If I go through the trouble of swapping the engine I'd like to get one that has a little more power than the 305. Is there any other...
