I've been having some problems with my fuel pump not running. I tore everything apart and found that the pump is fine but one of the electrical connectors for the pump in the tank seems to have a bad connection sometimes. At first I could only get the pump to run if I held the wires one way, but then I pulled this green plastic plug thing out of the connector and now it works fine. So I'm just wondering what the little plastic thing is for and is there really any reason for it to be clipped into the connector?

Think I solved my own problem. I messed around with the connector some more and finally got it apart and found that one of the prongs looks to be burnt or corroded pretty bad. So looks like I pretty much just have to get a new wire harness for the fuel tank.
