    1998 K1500 Build

Haha I appreciate it. I wasn't too thrilled about painting on bed liner or something of the sort but couldn't think of another choice Hindsight 20/20 but I can't believe I didn't think of bed rail covers

    1998 K1500 Build

That's true. I really like the bed rail covers though... I kind of need them though after the paint got ripped off so I don't have a choice anyway

Finally got the toolbox from the shipping company today. I freaking love the thing, but my only complaint would be that my two window stickers are not only half visible haha

    1998 K1500 Build

I'm definitely not spraying anything haha, way too much effort considering I'm doing this myself along with a million other things I gotta do with my truck in a fairly short timespan. I'll just paint it if anything

    1998 K1500 Build

Been a long time updating this so here goes a bunch of things that I can think of: A while back I finally took the running boards off my truck. Thankfully all the paint under it was good and the truck looks quite a bit better now in my opinion. Here's how it looks without the running boards...

What kind of mileage do you get?

Got 12 MPG my last tank... Mostly city driving with a little highway. Did a full tune up on the truck since then so I'm curious what I'll get next fill up

Towing truck on car hauler with High Mileage Yukon

I'll agree on putting it in third. It's best to do that anytime you're on hills though (I do it when driving through hills without a trailer). The trans gets hot when it's constantly shifting from OD and down again going through hills, which is what messes it up. To answer your actual question...

    Sale price? Opinions wanted!!!

Sadly, I'm one of few people who owns one of these trucks who could sell it for more than they paid for it. It sucks putting money in a truck and then not getting it back when you sell it, but that's the way it is with cars/trucks. Due to this, my advice is don't sell it because you will regret...

89 350 tbi- seafoamed and no smoke

x2 on that... higher rpm's can help knock some of the carbon out.

    strongest ball joints?

x2 on Moog. There's a reason NASCAR uses Moog (slightly different parts for NASCAR of course, but still)

    Bigger engine for towing

It's been said already, but you gotta keep in mind that, while you'll be able to haul more, you still can't LEGALLY haul more. rebuilding the 4l80e is probably the best bet as well

    1998 K2500 Suburban Red Rocket

Welcome How high you plan on lifting it? Also good luck on turning it into a blazer with a wheelbase as big as you've got... what's the plan for that?

Dual Exhaust Systems? What Did You Go With?

You're not gonna be able to get the cat-back part of the system too easily if you want to do a bolt on true dual exhaust system. You could go with something fairly cheap for headers such as summit's headers, but personally if you're gonna do it.. do it right and get stainless, which becomes much...

Welcome, I'd love to see some pics as well.

    Just another FNG here

Welcome.. I'd love to see pics as well. It doesn't have to be the cleanest around.. from my experience these trucks usually clean up really nice regardless though.. unless someone messed with the original paint job and ruined the clearcoat. Sounds like a trip to the junkyard is in order for you.

    1996 C1500 fuel mileage mods?

It's really just going to help your sound and minor improvements in horsepower and torque. The advantage of the sound and of the looks a dual exhaust provided were enough for me to get one, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it just for a small increase in MPG because you will most certainly be...

    1996 C1500 fuel mileage mods?

Really a tune up is gonna be one of the few "mods" that you can justify the cost on. What I mean by that is, technically a whole free-flowing exhaust is gonna give you better MPG over stock, but you'll never really be able to save enough money from better fuel mileage to justify the cost of the...

Check it out crew cab with 24k miles

Not asking too much at all, I honestly would've thought he'd be asking a bit higher.

    central florida new guy

Welcome... hoping my truck has better luck with the 4l60e than you... I'm at only 76,000 miles amazingly so we're yet to see. You could think about doing a swap to something like an NV4500... you should be much more satisfied with that than a 4l60e Pics would be awesome if you got 'em

    engine light for transmission?

Might want to scan it anyways, just in case it's not that for sure.. But yeah these transmissions are connected, at least in some aspects, to the OBDII.. I got a check engine light when my shift solenoid went

    Thermostat question

Honestly, I don't think there's anything to be concerned with here. In the cold, my truck runs at around 1/4 on the thermostat also. IMO your thermostats fine and is running at a normal spot for this freezing cold weather
