If you're stock, then they will more than likely rub.
I had 16x10's with 4.5 bs & they cleared but mine is lifted. Now I've gone to a 16x9 with 4.54 bs & they even brought back my tight turn radius!
FF40:
- At this time I have about 45k on the ProCharger. The previous owner put about 20k on it.
- My driving habits didn't really change, believe it or not.
- The inline pump was used with the stock system & still is in use even with the Racetronix/Walbro kit.
Now onto my next...
Hey FF40, did you ever do a write up on installing your 2din? I'm going to change out my stock head unit one of these days & am looking for ideas, procedures, etc....
Welcome to yet another one of Shaggy's forums....
The kit would be fine, but to attempt & make serious/reliable power you would need to do a true MPFI setup as stated above.
You could always do that later, but at least have fun with FI in the meantime. Also, do yourself a favor & get a custom tune.
As long as you are not afraid to bust it out on this project, go for it. As you said the best part is you have the complete & running donor truck at your disposal. Just shooting from the hip, 98% of us will never have that "golden opportunity".
I wonder if it would be easier to repin the...
I'm ironing out kinks in the 411 before I do the intake swap. I can't wait though, it is practically ready to drop in along with the LS3 42#ers! The injector harness is still in the works.
The DT Tri-Y's are technically a mid length header. It's a good product especially with the 2 1/2" crossover piping. The o2 bungs are just at the spot where you don't need to extend the wires/pigtails.
I wasn't aware that DT's had the AIR injection option.
How much boost are you making...
^ agreed, incorrect backlash will cause that whine. When the G80 was replaced with a Trutrac, I had AAM gears put in. They whined at first but after the breakin period it was adjusted and have been quiet ever since.
I had clank & figured it was the front drive shaft, as this is common. When things were checked it out, the ujoints were bad. After replacing those parts, no more clank.
IIRC, the crappy Whippletronics is the heart & soul of this kit. There are ways around it, but in stock form you would have no way to control the extra injectors.
Welcome over man! Hit up the EFI Live website and you can download the software along with numerous PDF tutorials. It is a lot of reading but well worth it to become familiar with how tuning affects the performance.
That tech2 will be great for the CASE relearn when you install the new ECM.
