    Broken starter bolts

Question: Does the starter on a 1998 Chevrolet K1500 (5.7L 350) have a front bracket? The story: this past Monday morning I got a call that my son's truck wouldn't start and sparks were coming from beneath the engine. Hurried home and found the starter hanging from the cable and both starter...

How do I install a crank sprocket?

I'm in the middle of putting a new timing chain on my '98 5.7L 350 and I don't know how to get the crank sprocket into position. I've read that it should be gently tapped into position but that's not doing anything and I'm worried I'll damage something if it strike it any harder. I saw a...

Engine loping after cold start - '94 5.7 350 TBI

My truck is loping after a cold start. The loping stops as soon as the engine warms. I'm thinking it might be the EGR valve but I'm hoping for some expert suggestions here to confirm/debunk my uneducated guess... I thought I've seen this prob posted/resolved here in the past but I couldn't...

    Stripped intake bolt holes, help!

I was installing my intake when I stripped the two bolt holes indicated by the arrows (below pic). It looked like the bolt holes had previously been drilled out just a bit, or is that normal? Anyway, those two were the only ones that gave me any trouble when I cleaned them with a tap. I think I...

    Removing intake, any tips?

Is there a secret to remove an intake off a 20-year-old engine? :( I'm replacing the intake gaskets and I'm at the point of removing the intake from the block. I've tried inserting a thin paint scrapper between the intake and the block to free it up a little but it's not gettting the job done...

    Fuel pump probs

I think I've been having fuel pump problems. Twice recently I've gotten close to home after driving 45+ minutes from work and my truck suddenly begins to sputter then dies. The truck coasts to the side of the road then won't restart for 10-15 minutes, and begins to run fine again. It's done...

    Oil leaking from PCV - '94 Chev K1500 5.7L

I'm apparently having a problem with increased pressure in the crankcase. I need some help/suggestions diagnosing the problem. The breather hose from the throttle body to the driver side valve cover had been brittle and had cracked, I used some foil tape for a temporary fix. Last week I was...

'94 5.7L rough idling problems, possible fuel pump. Need ideas/suggestions.

Hi, guys. Let me give you some info and see if I can get some suggestions. I've had my truck for about a year, it currently has about 180,200 miles. New from south Louisiana

Hello. Three days ago I bought my first Chevy, it's a '94 Z71. I wrecked my '85 Toyota 4x4 in October and I've been trying to decide which way to go with my next 4x4. I finally figured Chevrolet was the thing to do. I'll need lots of help...
