    1993 1500 4wd to 2wd.

Here is a picture of the first attempt at mounting the coilovers. Looks like i will need to make a new upper shock mount as the spring hits the frame before it gets to the bolt holes only by about 1/4" away. I needed to trim the bump stop, I already knew that was needed so i will be adding a new...

Yep looked for one about a year ago, never found one local that didn't allready have a complete body on it. To be honest i don't have the room to have two trucks to do the swap.

Shafts are being removed. I will likely need to cut the bump stops off and make new ones. But i'm waiting until the shocks get here be for i do any cutting. I will also need to run limit straps.

    1993 1500 4wd to 2wd.

I inherited this truck when my Dad died about 4 year ago. I cannot get rid of the truck sisters would disown me; it is too much work and money to keep on the road so it will never see the street again. The body is in good shape but the chassis has every bolt rusted tight. I have wanted to build...

    4wd removal

I did look into the 99 1/2ton HD 2wd hub. I need to buy one and measure it to make sure, but based on info found on the web they are different. I will be in the middle of moving soon. If i can find another place with a garage this is on my list of summer projects to do.

    Code 28

Not a tranmission expert. but are you sure the new trans is a 93-94 4l60e. in 95 they changed a few things in the 4l60E. Next ask the tranmission guy if they used all new electronics and wiring inside the trans, i was told that it's important to use all new parts.

    More horsepower and torque?!

your never going to see any real HP gains with the TBI heads. I built a new TBI 350 engine for my 89 suburban with edlebrock cam and intake, biggest mistake was not upgrading the heads, sure i make more power but i'm not sure if it's the edelbrock stuff or the fresh engine. still have a hard...

    engine rebuild questions

For 1000 your not going to get much. I would find a roller cam block, have your friend build that then use some 89-92 TPI heads and roller cam, should find them cheap on CL. Then use you stock intake or Edlebrock tbi. Then find someone to burn you a chip. This will get you some dependable power...

Next step for more TBI power...

how many miles on your engine? I have never had luck putting fresh heads an cam on 150,000+ engine in a performance application. If you plan to keep the truck for a long time, it's better to save your money to rebuild or buy a new engine with the power level you want.

    4wd to 2wd

I did do some searching and couldn't find anything. I have a 93 RCSB 4wd 1/2ton. I want to remove all the 4wd parts and build this truck into a street/strip truck. For reasons out of my control i cannot sell this truck and just buy a 2wd. I might just install an aftermarket front suspension...
