6.5 Diesel to 5.7 swap
Kind of a strange one but what the hey. I have a 1997 K1500 with a great running 5.7L the truck is bone stock and has 3.42 gears. The gears are too tall for towing my trailer. A little rant
This really pisses me off, it happened again today. On a trail outside Parker another 6" lifted truck with stupid big 35"+ tires flipped on its side. I wish I had pics but did not have phone with me. K1500 Front Axle Re-gear
This is my first full sized Chevy truck so I have lots of questions. I have done many a solid axle gear change and even several Ford front TTB's. Whats the difference????
Ok I did not find this one in the stupid question sticky. I need to change gears in my tow rig, so I start searching for used axles in local junk yards. My truck is a 1997, K1500, 4X4 and guess what, there are 3 different axles listed for that year model. I'm looking to go to 3.73's or possibly...- 97ttpuller

A little more advise
In the closed Junk Truck thread I lot lots of very helpful advise. I'm starting think I'm going to have to replace my exhaust system. By what most have told me a partially plugged exhaust would be the most logical reason for my 5.7 being so sluggish and thirsty. I have two more questions...- 97ttpuller
