    Cheapest Battery for K1500 5.7L

Order a battery online at Advance Auto, use one of there lucrative coupon codes and go pick it up at the store. By far the cheapest way I've gotten batteries.

    Clutch engages at the floor.

I have no experience with an OBS clutch, but I would look at the clutch pedal, bracket, and related linkages. If anything is causing a bunch of slack it could cause the problem you're experiencing. On my brother's Mazda truck, the clutch pedal bracket broke at the pivot point causing the same...

USB charging port instead of rear ash tray

That looks great. I like the window lock kill switch too. Nice job.

NP 243 All Buttons Stay Lit, No 4wd

Why won't the TCCM display codes if it's the encoder? I can't just throw parts at this thing.

NP 243 All Buttons Stay Lit, No 4wd

On my 98 K2500 all of my 4wd buttons stay lit and pressing them does nothing. I tried pulling the TCCM fuse and after you do this and turn the key on the 2Hi light comes on. However, if you press 4HI all three buttons light up solid. I tried checking for codes and with the #13 pin grounded all...

Fuel pressure is meaningless if you have no injector pulse.

4L60 bad after long Winter Nap: Solved

This happened to my 4L80e after being parked on a hill for a couple of days. Ended up leaking a quart and a half into the transfer case. After I pulled the truck off the hill it slipped. Turned the truck off and back on and all was well again except for a delay going into drive. Drove it for 3...

Losing oil in ti 350 - risks to continue driving it?

Worry about one problem at a time. Replacing those valve seals should be priority number one. The reason your plugs aren't nasty is because you are likely loosing all your oil from the exhaust valves, thus not showing up on the plugs. Bad valve seals can dramatically increase oil consumption.

Losing oil in ti 350 - risks to continue driving it?

If you still have the factory valve seals, you need to replace those ASAP. These are notoriously bad on older engines and in some cases can cause significant oil consumption.

That's a $2k truck. No leather, bad paint, TBI not vortec, only a half ton. Much better trucks out there for the money.

    Manifold stretcher

I thought I was the only one that this has happened to. I had to drill out my manifold on the TBI 350 in my K10. I still was not able to get one bolt in on cylinder #1. No leaks, so I stopped caring.

    transfer case fluid

And is not correct. That is for an Autotrac transfer case. Regular push button takes Dextron III ATF.

    G80/locker help.

There is nothing wrong with a 10 bolt if you build it correctly and keep it within its limits. While a 14 bolt is a fine option, an Eaton posi unit added to a 10 bolt will make for a strong reliable rear. Steer clear from anything G80. Buying a 14 bolt with a G80 is not smart. You cannot add a...

    Vortec 454 Intake Gasket Sealant

I plan to do this job over Thanksgiving. However, after I looked at the gaskets in person it is pretty obvious they are intended to be installed dry. It will be very important that the gasket surfaces be hospital grade clean.

    Vortec 454 Intake Gasket Sealant

Previous owner changed from orange to green coolant. I guess I will put a thin film of RTV around the water jackets and leave the ports dry. I am not concerned about vacuum leaks.

    Vortec 454 Intake Gasket Sealant

Planning to tackle the lower intake gaskets on my Vortec 454 over Thanksgiving due to coolant leaks. I am going to use Fel Pro MS95826 gaskets. From those of you that have done this job on a 454, not a 350, what are your suggestions on whether sealants should be applied to gasket surfaces? Or...

    Towing.... Stuff.... A long way.

Sounds like a fun trip and well within the limits of your truck. Running in OD wouldn't bother me unless it starts to hunt for gears, then leave it in D. I've never needed premium fuel on my stock tune. I assume the computer pulls a ridiculous amount of timing. Careful on those down hill...
