    The Stupid Interior Questions Thread

I did find some leather seats from a 96 Tahoe for $50. The frames were good and work plus they are heated. The Leather was trashed I am going to convert both to heated. The plugs are the same except for the non heated one pin is missing. The owner had used the Tahoe for parts so I got many...

14-18 Rear Bumper Swap (No Welding)

another question. What did the OP do about the opening for the spare tire hoist shaft not lining with the shaft? The rod that goes into the hoist rod has to be straight or the rod will round off. I am going to try a hex 5/8 hex impact socket and 1/2 inch "wobble" adapter.

14-18 Rear Bumper Swap (No Welding)

Update. I was able to use my old license plate lights in. The new lenses are held in place with 1 screw. Just made the opening in the new bumper a little larger. The old harness worked but a little tight. This should work till I can find one at a P&P.

    Tailgate Replacement

I wonder if anyone has tried to install the latch mechanism from a 2012 or later truck in a GMT 400. My brother has a 2012 and it closes so easy. I am replacing the hinges soon because it won't open wothout lifting the right side first.

14-18 Rear Bumper Swap (No Welding)

I completed the install. Wasn't a complicated as I thought. One issue I had was centering the bumper and to correct it I used steel gas pipe for spacers and cut 2 at1.5 inchs long for the passenger side and 2 at 2.25 inches long for the driver side . The bumper barely cleared the class 3...

I have looked around, and have not found it yet. Drilling holes in cigarette lighter.

A related question. If I have my radar/laser detector plugged into the middle port the detector will shut off the on when I start he truck. But if plugged into either outer ports it will stay on when starting with no effect. I usually turn it off anyway when I'm not driving but I do forget...

14-18 Rear Bumper Swap (No Welding)

I was thinking that also but I did notice that the metal in th enew bumper and the included brackets are a lot thinner so I doubt that would be an issue. If it was then the argument could be made as to how many 2014-18 trucks that were rear ended where the Ins Co denied the claim for repair...

14-18 Rear Bumper Swap (No Welding)

I won't need to cut that part off as I have a long bed and the spring bracket does not interfere.

92 K2500 Trailer Brake Controller connection

The orange and blue wires won't be under the dash. I found mine under the hydro boost brake master cylinder unit in the engine bay. The other wires on the cross member behind rear bumper will most likely be under the dash . I haven't looked but I have a tone device and probe from my phone...

    Best trailer brakes?

I have the same unit and love it. Have the knob mounted high to right of steering wheel above cargo light switch To manually activate I don't need to take my hand off the wheel. With boat trailer surge disc brakes the back up light has to be wired to 7 pin round and use an adapter to convert to...
