no the texture on the dark grey portion of the dash piece is not the same as the texture on the rest of the cab. For that I just used a thicker paint and sprayed it at a further distance so the paint has time to open up and semi dry causing it to texture the panel.

Yeah I need to finish that up yet, I'm probably going to mold the bluetooth mic into one of the panels so I didnt want to paint them yet but it will be done eventually

Heres a little bit of an update finally. Been pretty busy with the everyday installs so I haven't had much time to work on the truck but I was able to squeeze in a little bit. Originally in the beginning of the build I was going to use the Pioneer 80prs but since then I've received a shipment of...

    96 ECSB stereo system build

Not much of an update, been slammed with regular so I haven't had too much time to put in work this week. I managed to get the crossover trim pieces molded in and primed. I decided that instead of doing a flushed piece of plexiglass over the crossovers I'd just chamfer the opening and i might...

Dude I totally feel you on the SPL rant. I'm not one for cramming a million watts and a thousand subs in my car to play it at 100hz and make numbers pop up on a meter. Well I've been there done that and did have fun then but that was more to promote my shop at the time. SPL is much bigger here...

Thanks man. I see you did a nice blow through in your truck. Did you notice any increase in road noise after the blow through. It looks like you have either a beauty panel or the box itself over the opening so I'm guessing in your case you don't have much more noise than factory. I'm eventually...

Yes the kicks and doors will most likely see different air space and may cause a difference in sound but the chances of them being recognized audibly will only show if the drivers were played and compared A/B. If this were a strictly SQ build then I wouldn't have even though about going with...

    96 ECSB stereo system build

Thanks man. I figured it would be good for the guys with the 94 and older interiors since there is no door location for speakers. I do own a car audio shop here in Hawaii and the thought of building and selling similar panels have always been in my head. I have built other pieces that I've...

I plan to vent them eventually but I figured I would give it a try and see how it goes just as is with it channeling into the rocker and up. I'm pretty sure I'll need a bit more air space so when i have time to pull the fenders i'll get a really good look of where to vent it out. As for the...

Got more work in on the truck today. I got the kicks pretty much finalized and test fitted again. Got the a pillars just about done and test fitted them also. I started some work on the area I'm going to house and display the crossovers for the 2 sets of front components. I'm mounting them on...

I dont have exact measurements on me but the tweeter itself is about 1/2 to 5/8 inches in depth. Nothing out of the ordinary for a tweeter

A little bit of an update. I did a little more work to the kick panels, put a few more coats of filler and a few coats of high build primer to see how it looks before I decide to either texture and paint it or wrap it in vinyl. Also started the a pillar tweeter mounts. I took the front...

    96 ECSB stereo system build

i'm actually doing 2 sets of components up front and because the power window motor is right behind the area I wanted to put the second speaker I had to use a different location for it. Kick panels were the next obvious choice. Aside from that IF I decided I wanted to just run one set of...
