    99 Suburban LT K1500 - Slow build

Perhaps the drum shoes were out of adjustment and needed to adjust themselves back to the drum. They prolly had to back them off in order to get the drum off and didn't reset them. Also, my burb has 4.56s and no abs issues and I desire a lower gear as well cause it's still gutless. I would...

Sounds like a brake issue to me! I would get that figured out ASAP. Did that noise go away after you got it back from the shop? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    6" Rcx causing driveline vibrations?

In case anyone was wondering, I fixed the driveshaft issue of sticking out to far. Turned out that the bolt that holds the leaf spring pack together had sheared on both leaf packs! This truck must have had a rough past. Any ways the axle had to be moved forward about 1.5 inches to be on...

Ok, bummer about the y pipe. Mine has a 6" lift as well but the person boogered the welds pretty badly when the extended the y pipe. On previous trucks I always extended the y pipe to go below the trans tail shaft and will prolly be the way I do this suburban as well. I'll keep thinking on...

I had a question for you too, when you installed the lift did you have to modify your y pipe? If not then I will be using that header combo since whoever had my burb hacked the exhaust all to hell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe the front driveshaft? That's a strange problem your having. You said you bought the upgraded front shaft so I'm assuming you have the autotrac. Is the new shaft a cv style or ujoint style? If cv it could be popping under initial load perhaps? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    6" Rcx causing driveline vibrations?

Wouldn't the proper method be an all spring lift? As far as I have always known is blocks are the cheap way out. And tapered blocks are also to keep the pinion angles in check. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    6" Rcx causing driveline vibrations?

Also it's my belief that an engineered bolt on kit such as this one would be designed to keep the stock drive shafts. I haven't seen anyone yet talk about the need of a longer shaft for and obs Chevy lifted six inches unless it has the autotrac case then a new front shaft is recommended. I...

    6" Rcx causing driveline vibrations?

Who said the truck has crappy u joints? The ujoint is just fine with zero play so it's not the issue. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    6" Rcx causing driveline vibrations?

It's a pretty familiar vibration that I have experienced on previous trucks that was usually the pinion bearing or u-joints. The pinion was nice and tight, and ujoint are good. With the truck in neutral I can grab the front yoke and it has slack, I haven't had time to verify if it's the...

    Suburban Picture Thread.

I was happy when I saw it had a tailgate. My previous burb had barn doors and they annoyed the crap out of me, especially with rear visibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How larger tires wear out the suspension

It's not always just the bigger tires playing into it. The offset of the wheel is another big factor, the farther away you move the hub from the center of the wheel the more stress is applied to the suspension. Especially the upper bushings and wheel bearings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
