Been having a very hard time finding a trust worthy source of a 00-05 Yukon/Tahoe 4x4 Z71 box with the four bolt cover. If you see a promising candidate out there and the guy is willing to ship, can you pass me the contact info- would be appreciated. Would also be interested in the matching pump...
I was wanting to use the gmt400 arm as it is new- I did switch out to the newer brake system which required knuckle replacement- where the ball joint stud cones had to be reamed....which makes me wonder about the compatibility of the new joint stud to center link fit.
OK another fitment question on steering box, up to 2005 still has 32 spline output 2006+ has 33 spline. I know the three bolt input cover box will fit from a 1500, looking for a Z71 box which is heavier and has a 4 bolt input cover- is the 2500 box any different as in ratio or fit?
I have 1989, changed the brakes to a 2005 suburban as I have two sets of new rubber I didn't want to go larger than the 16in rim. Did away with the rear anti lock years ago and am running hydro boost- finally excellent braking with oe rear discs and parking brake.
So- received the adapter from Borgeson which you have to file a flat to match old splined input shaft. This should open up options for 88-98 trucks to 2007+ sometime later they switched from a 32 spline to a 33 spline output shaft.
I'm still digesting up to page 12, my interest in the steering gear conversion- contacted Borgeson about a simple adapter- they do make one.
We do have an adapter that will slide on the 17MM DD input shaft and convert it to a ¾”-30 spline. You will need to grind a flat on it to match the flat...
Anybody find a decent mom and pop shop that does rebuilds and minor mods (torsion bar). Been down the Lee road with less than stellar results, not interested in redhead or blue top, if it comes to it- looking at a new borgeson unti.
Looks like I'm in the market (again) for a box- looking at a new Borgeson unit for my '89. The original box with my suspension was excellent.... until it was not, had Tom Lee build a box which was even better until it started leaking out the top (should have fixed this one myself), with the new...
