What all is involved? Do the cross member or drive shafts have to be altered? My truck is a 1990 K1500 with a 350(tbi) 5LM60, np231 and 14 bolt sf. Would it be easier to find an early nv4500 so I keep the external slave?
Either induction system would be a learning experience for me as my knowledge base is minimal to non-existent. However, I am willing to put in the time to learn.
From what I've read, switching to carburetion requires the installation of a return style fuel pressure regulator, fuel pressure...
I see. I'll be honest, that's way beyond both my mechanical and mental ability. I've been leaning towards carburetion because it's simple and many people know how to tune them. I was inquiring about TBI because the truck came with it and learning to tune it sounded interesting.
More than one person here suggested that I keep fuel injection. Would it be possible to tune this combination with dynamic efi's EBL tuner, a bored tbi unit/intake manifold and fuel pressure regulator? Also, would retaining fuel injection hinder the engine's performance potential vs a 4bbl...
Recommendations for AFPR and gauges that are installed relatively easily? Would like to ensure that I'm getting adequate pressure and to have the ability to adjust pressure to make the most of modifications and tuning. Thanks
Reset the computer and rechecked codes. Only getting code 12 ERROR CODE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY .
I'll have to take her for a spin to see if the light comes again. Hopefully not. Thanks for all of your help!
I don't recall disconnecting any EGR hardware when I removed my factory manifolds. Is their a port in the head that I may have blocked or something? Thanks. I'll reset my computer today.
My headers do not have provisions for EGR. I plan on installing a 3 wire, heated O2 sensor. No leaks that I know of but I will double check tomorrow once it's light out. How do I reset the computer?
Thanks,
Eric
Decided to pull the codes from the computer via the paperclip trick before spending any money.
13 Oxygen sensor voltage stays between 0.35 and 0.55 volts for 60 seconds.
32 EGR open command did not change MAP sensor signal. Normal EGR flow should cause slight decrease in manifold vacuum...
Update: exhaust is finished(2.5" true duals) still getting SES light when driving on the highway. Going to install a 3 wire heated O2 sensor. Will update once complete.
Thanks
O2 sensor has less than 1000 miles on it. What I meant to say was that I had a O2 sensor bung welded into the header reducer. The O2 sensor is not damaged. Hopefully having the remainder of the exhaust placed on the truck mitigates the situation.
Thanks
