I'm Awesome
Hello all,
I may have jumped the gun a little, I've been active on a few other threads, even started one before formally introducing myself.
My name is Rob (Get it? Rob Did It?) and I'm a first and a half owner of a GMT400. My introduction to these vehicles was about 15 years ago when my mom purchased a 1991 K1500 RCLB (hence the half). I now own one of my own, though it won't be here in Texas with me until next month (June 2017).
I just got my hands on a 1997 K1500 Z71 ECSB and couldn't be happier. My maiden voyage with Big Red (I need to find a better name for her, but Big Red is all I've got for now) was a huge success, finding only minor problems. Over the next few weeks, my dad will run her through his gamut of tests and find out everything she needs to get back in tip-top shape. My plans will start immediately after I have her here in Dallas.
Plans:
Sound system - full plans on this thread http://www.gmt400.com/threads/audio-recommendations.37494/
Lift kit, wheels, tires, brakes - Nothing serious, 2-3" lift with 20" rims, 35" tires.
Lights - HID fog lights, and a good set of replacement headlights.
That's all I have planned for now, it'll take a few months to get her finished up, but I plan on having everything finished by this time next year, stay tuned.
