I wanna know more about the 24x CNP coil setup, if you have a writeup, or partial on Pacific or somewhere, or if you wanna post it up here, I have a buddy about to add a distrib to an LS mutt motor hes building and he would benefit greatly from it.

heh, I call mine the LS31.

yeah, its the 24x setup from EFIconnection. works really well. here's the eficonnection site which has tons of info on it, click the 24x up in the top left corner of the page for all the specific stuff. they are even comming out with a 58x to run E38 PCMs with gen 1, 2 SBC's pretty cool. http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/default.aspx

I've got a kindof build thread over in pacific, it goes over alot more than just the 24x, but does have alot of my specifics on it there: http://www.pacificp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8757

if you've got specific questions, feel free to PM me or something, I could probably do a write up on it if there is interest, it wouldn't be overly hard for me to do.

I have question, why do I see ls swaps running both the black box and the 0411 pcm? You only need the 0411 pcm right?

Because those people have been misinformed. I have seen alot of those 2PCM trucks. I have also read many times that you need to retain the "Black Box" PCM to have the gauges function properly. If you run an L31 or a Gen3 24x engine---The 12200411 PCM is all you need in a 96-2000 GMT400 truck.

Absolutely, I ran my my early 1996 truck, gauges and all, completely off the 411 before I did any of the 24x stuff. it worked exceedingly well. you don't need the blackbox at all.

Dumb question, but are the black boxes worth anything?

Depends who you are selling 1 to. GM hasnt built these PCM's BOTH the blackbox and 411 PCM's for years now. Blackbox PCM's are about $20 from the local wreckers here. These PCM's are much better than the ECM's that preceded them. Its all about evolution.

Ok guy brand new to the site. i have been reading alot of things on here for the last week. I am really interested in the 411 swap for my truck. i have yet to come across anyone doing it with a 5 speed though. i have a 97 silvy vortec nv4500 trans and quite a few mods but no tuning yet :/ i would like to know what i need to do to get the 411 in my truck with my trans. has anyone done this yet? i will attempt it if i can figure it out and id love to take pics and make posts for doing it with the manual if possible. Everything i have read so far on the entire site has been great! Im looking forward to being a involved member! thanks in advance!
