I'm Awesome
I have read other threads on this subject but newly registered to allow me to actually post here.
I have a '97 C1500 w/ the 5.0 Vortec that I recenlty rebuilt. Installed the distributor with the rotor pointed to the "8" and the enigne runs but thows a code for cam offset.
I have the Torque Pro app and a BAFX wi-fii OBD interface that can see the typicaly information like rpm, ignition advance, etc.
I have tried installing an extra PID: OBD Mode 221301 but that does not appear to work (when I test I get an error). If I leave the OBD Mode blank I get a number for the PID but it appears to be fixed and not related to the distributor position (-16.2 if I recall correctly).
Any thoughts about what I may be doing wrong? I need to get a viable CMP Offset reading to allow me to adjust to the +/- 2 degrees required to eliminate the code.
Thanks
