I do struggle pulling a 6 foot trailer. I can see why 4.10 is suggested. Is there anyone running 33" tires with 4.10 gear ratio? What is your gas mileage in town?

I have 285/75/16 @ 215k miles with a 350 3.73's and I can roast the tires all day. I'm still getting 14mpg on winter fuel as well. I either need a o2 sensor or a TPS since she is taking a bit too get back down to an idle at a red light(maybe 20sec.).

What is your truck running for gears? I was talking to a lot shops around here and most of them said to get rid of the 3.73s and put 4.10s. They figured it's be better mileage and more power. I'm going to have the fuel pressure test ASAP as well as compression

Wow, just wow.

In a word: no.

If you are running stock tire sizes (or close to it) 4.10's will drop your mileage.

If you've got big tires on it, that's a horse of a different color...

I'm running 4.10 and stock tire sizes on my 98 k2500 eclb. I pull 19-20 straight highway, but I'm running a diesel. 350 Gassers should be in around 13-4 highway with 4.10. 454 is significantly lower :(

33´s aren't much bigger and aren't worth 4.10's.

My brother in-laws old 88 rcsb had a 6" procomp, 3" body lift and 38's and still had 3.42´s in out. It got sh¡t for milage, but could still roast them tires.

thats the most beautiful stepside ive ever seen. lke said stock tires and more gearing will only drop mileagei get 13mpg with a built 350tbi, built trans and locked rear end. and not a very light foot. highway about 18. id cehck your fuel filter, do your compression tests and what everyone else had said. buying a truck with a stock 200k everything isnt gonna run like a ***** ape
