So I took out the scanner today and the truck threw 5 codes.
P1345 - cam to crank sensor error (something like that)
P0121 - Throttle position sensor
P0122 - Throttle position sensor
P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire
P0108 - Manifold Air Pressure sensor.

Looks like the TPS is the issue. I'm a bit worried about the other three codes, though.

Replaced the TPS this morning and it's still throwing all the same codes. Do I have to clear the codes in order for the truck to run normally again?

Also, The truck will occasionally sputter and die if you let off the gas abruptly.

Yes you have to clear the codes if they have not run and passed in the pcm internal circuit checks. Sounds like you could have a wiring issue if the codes reapperar, also has the lower intake manifold ever been replaced or the distributor loosened, if so and the base timing is not within 1 degree plus or minus of 0 the a check engine light will set. Back to the trans does your scan tool read transmission data? If so then that would be a great help in diagnosing the problem.
