    Best plastic dash protectant?

Unless its a 07-13 GM truck dash. Lawsuits, web pages, articles etc about those dashes cracking. Very hard to find one that is not cracked. You can buy a new one but it is exactly the same. No changes. Best to just install a Dashskin and live with it.

    Stamped Lower Control Arms

From the research I done, The 88-95 6 lug requires no grinding to the Astro/Safari AWD LCAs or the knuckle. The 96-99 6 lug arm and knuckle have to be ground. I believe in 96 GM changed the design of the arm and knuckle. In no way shape or form I'm saying this is a fact. This is just my opinion...

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

To clarify, I did not say all lifts wear out ball joint. I said the cheap lifts. If you just crank up the torsion bars to lift the front end OR you just install 3" keys to lift the front end. I thought it was common knowledge that balljoints will fail prematurely if you do those type of lift...

I wonder if the studs in the plate are pressed in like most wheel studs are. I really don't see any benefit of a plate and studs. 1 tool to install instead of 2 tools. I've never seen or heard of an issue with the bolts and nuts. Maybe with low quality bj but I don't buy low quality parts. I...

I saw that also. Dorman has came along way compared to many years ago. Maybe they're buying up other companies like Holley has been doing.

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

From Mevotech's website. The warranty is not worth anything if you install them yourself. Ive read many reviews and found mixed reviews just like Moog. The TTX line seems to be relatively new so no high mile reviews. A patented new design. Easier install that might save me 2 minutes per side...

I just looked at all the different brands of balljoints listed on Rockauto. There is a lot. Please point out these companies/rebranded that Mevotech makes for them? I'm not seeing anything that looks like the TTX series. I see some that might be Mevotech lower end series. It is common practice...

This is just like the old Chevy versus Ford debate. Just buy what you like and I'll buy what I like!! End of story.

are you racing, jumping, rock climbing that you need beef? If so, you need a solid axle truck.

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

Horror stories when people do the cheap lifts or mods to trucks that the ball joint is not designed for. Anyways I'm 57 and have had many trucks and cars and have had zero problems with Moog balljoints. Thanks anyways but I'll stick with that track record.

Moog, GM and ACDelco are know to last over 100k. But not if you crank up the torsion bars or just install 3" keys. You know the cheap lift that wears out ball joints quickly. Can anyone say that about Mevotech?

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

I kinda knew you were going to say Mevotech. I'm not sold on Mevotech being better than Moog especially long term. Maybe if I planned on jumping the truck but that bolt bracket is nothing but eye candy. I have never seen a CA break there or ever heard of one breaking unless it was jumped or hit...

What year trucks did you install the Astro LCA in? Did you have to do any grinding? I'm asking because I saw another thread that he had to grind the arm and the knuckle but I believe it was a 96-99.

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

Moog K6291 ball joint is called out for the 95 Astro and 95 trucks/tahoe. I guess its possible but I doubt Moog or GM installed a different balljoint.

I'm not going off the ball joint I'm comparing the 4 bj mount holes and the half round cutouts on the arm. So the shop that did your alignment had no issues getting into spec?

I'm replacing dam near everything suspension, steering, brakes. Moog and ACDelco parts mainly. Those balljoint steel rivets are a real pain. I'm an aircraft mechanic and have done a lot of drilling out of rivets over my 30 years working on aircraft. My old arm was sore after drilling out all 8...

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

Lets get back to the subject at hand. Thanks. As you can see the metal inboard of the bushing is different, that is making it difficult to get good measurements. This is why I decided to temp install them (meaning on jacks not assemble everything and drive it around) and use a plum bob and I...

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

I'm going to temp install both LCAs this weekend and drop a plumb bob, camber tool etc to get measurements before I give up on the Astro LCAs. I can't get good measurements on the bench. Well the important measurements. The few people who have actually used these haven't posted how the...

Maybe they will work but people are saying they're exactly the same except the 4 threaded bolt holes. I found that to be incorrect. I'm just letting people know what I found and aren't surprised like I was. I'm returning them and going back to plan A of rebuilding the original LCA. I was...

88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

No problem, I did update my 1st post after you asked. They will bolt in. The bushing spacing is the same. The no go to me is the balljoint will be outboard at least a 1/2" than the original LCA. This will cause a negative camber which IMO the UCA caster camber bolts won't correct. I doubt you...
