    we have pulled about 8500lb for 5 hours before in a 92 k2500. and 10k of hay with a gooseneck a couple times. truck has new engine with 20k and a trans with 10k. it has a trans cooler and better rad too.

    when my pop wanted me to learn to weld he got me a 110v fcaw welder and a 30 dollar yeswelder helmet. it worked for learning but was absolutely awful for anything more than that.

    if your wanna do this you will probably be better off finding a shop to do this then trying yourself. i dont know if a shop would do this for a less than what you paid for your truck with everything involved in this though.

    i have a k2500 that i am going to buy at the end of summer and want to get the parts to sas it at some point. is it necessary to swap the rear axle if has the same ratio as the new front?
