    The original post states I have a new, full size spare (w a ACDelco 2-ton rapid jack) It is in the bed, I will not be towing a trailer. Light furniture and items in 8ft bed only.

    The reason I ask because in my ~9,000 of ownership I have had to replace something suddenly every couple thousand miles/months, and many of those times the truck died while on the road. I have not had more than 2500 trouble free miles. Not enough seat time to make a decision on overall...
