Replaced lock cylinder, now it starts but won't run
Cool, this answered my question. I have a 97 and the lock is getting worse and worse with hang-ups. I can simply buy a cylinder and install it, with no jumping through hoops required, right?- TW97C1500

How to remove firewall connector?
I have learned apparently it is for connecting a diagnostic computer for the ECM. It doesn't go to the ECM, it goes into the wiring bundle under the dash. Either that electrical path goes to the ECM or this wire is the power source for whatever diagnostic computer / device gets connected...- TW97C1500

What is this wire from the firewall bulkhead connector for? ( see pics)
It definitely is factory, and it goes through the firewall and into the wiring bundle under the dash. A poster on another board said it is for a service tech to connect and run diagnostics on the ECM. Looking at wiring diagrams, that makes sense.
