Pulled intake manifold to change gaskets

honestly if that were mine, I would bolt it back together as-is and plan a budget for a full rebuild of that one or a crate motor. It's been like that for quite some time, so there is no sense stirring up the sludge or swapping out only the cam.

Truck won't shift out of park

while it is a single switch, there are multiple contacts inside. my '07 GMC sierra cruise control was inop due to a faulty brake pedal switch, but everything else was fine.

Thinking GMT400 3500 Dually for Track Day Towing, Thoughts?

I think they are cheaper because most people generally don't regard them the same as a "regular" pickups, and most businesses don't want older work trucks in their fleet. They are great for towing. After looking at your links, that behemoth 4 door dually, towing a trailer will probably be as...

Truck won't shift out of park

probably separated/broken cable underneath the truck, gotta check the cable under the truck. crawl under the drivers side and you'll see where the cable attaches to the shift lever on the transmission itself. somewhat of a common problem.

Wheel balancing beads “ Do they really help”?

the beads are installed by weight, so many ounces per tire size. my 225/70/19.5 tires take 6oz per tire. I had my doubts but I watched a video where a guy tested them out in a car tire on a spin balancer.. it worked. He even mounted a GoPro in his tire to watch them while he drove around. I...

97 K3500 CCLB aka the Rolling Turd

keeping it drivable while fixing things along the way is the best way to go. Dont go crazy tearing it down, trying to fix everything at once.

    1990 c2500 305tbi 3l80. Watery oil left in engine.

well.... if it ran for a while with that milky oil, that means its all though the bearings and everything... at a minimum you should pull a few rod/main caps to inspect... and then you will probably just end up rebuilding it anyway.

    Pcv valve troubles

remember the old "draft tubes" of the 50's and 60's..... crankcases would vent thru a tube to the bottom of the car, directly on the roadway. And why it used to be REALLY dodgy driving during the first rain after a dry spell. all the roads had oil stains down the middle of the lanes.

    2000 C2500 Project

good looking truck.... it's always fun going through and improving on a previous owner "repairs". I really like the PYO wheels too and had them one of my previous trucks.

    Shipping stuff

If you can find someone local to ship, you can also look at using Greyhound Bus... have them put it in cargo and then meet the bus to retrieve. I've seen this done on large items by members of other forums. Doors are heavy as hell though unless its just the shells

    Nostalgia Pic

My 1996 Tahoe, I think this was around 2007 or so moving from NY to MA, 180 miles one way. I had my whole house in that trailer.. was a tough pull, wayyyy too much weight for that poor 1500 but she made it. Really struggled with the hills. The friction material fell off my front pads a few days...

    Good used trans?

If it ran dry while someone was driving it probably burnt up the 3/4 clutches... but someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in. Did 1992 still have the 700r4? Yo could just drive it til it stops.. the 4L80 in my 93 c3500 was dog tired with slow shifts and real lazy into gears.. but it...
