    Speedometer Inaccuracies

I still haven't fixed the issue (I know it's been way too long). I haven't wanted to take it to a mechanic for fear of how much it would cost and I'd like to try to figure it out myself, but just haven't had much time for it. Today though, I ran a test using an OBD-II scan tool because I...

Issues with drum brake roll pins

I had everything replaced about a year ago. I just bought some new roll pins and am going to put them in tomorrow

Issues with drum brake roll pins

Ok. I'll give it a try and hope it stays.

Issues with drum brake roll pins

I'm actually having problems with my parking brake right now. The pedal only goes until it's flush with the door frame and the right brake doesn't engage. The right side used to work fine, but since the mechanic I'd taken the truck to had it, it has not worked. I had him replace the left parking...

Issues with drum brake roll pins

I did the brakes last year. The roll pin is the small tube looking thing that holds the arm for the self adjuster on.

Issues with drum brake roll pins

I have a 1998 GMC Sierra and just had one of the roll pins fall out of its hole in the brake shoe. The other side looked like it was about to fall out. Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Speedometer Inaccuracies

The odometer is reading high too. I tested it by driving 6.4 km. My trip meter said I went 6.9 km.

Braking causes rear turn signals to switch sides

My Dad and I were able to fix the lights. The problem wasn't with the ground itself, but with the wires going to the ground. They'd been cut at some point and whoever reconnected them only twisted the ends together and put a bit of tape over them. We soldered the wires together and put some...

    Speedometer Inaccuracies

It just occurred to me to double check that the cluster is indeed the wrong one, as the mechanic that I went to had said. It is the correct one. I got the code for the original cluster from a GM dealer and it matched the code on the current cluster. My next guess for what is causing the issue...

Also, do I need to worry about the other gauges not being correct (oil pressure, fuel, engine temperature, battery)?

Braking causes rear turn signals to switch sides

I'll give it a try. Thanks

Braking causes rear turn signals to switch sides

My dad suggested looking at the ground wires, so I did. The ground wire that goes to the connection for a trailer was in 2 parts that someone had connected at some point by twisting the ends together. The wires have corroded and loosened since then. I'm going to try fixing it, but I don't have...

Braking causes rear turn signals to switch sides

Well, a tow hitch was installed when the truck belonged to one of the previous owners, so it's possible they didn't do the wiring correctly.

    Speedometer Inaccuracies

Sorry it's been so long, I've been a little busy. I couldn't tell if the tachometer was reading high because I don't know what it's supposed to be at and I don't have a tool to measure it. I've been looking into finding a replacement for the cluster, but haven't found a place with mine in...

Braking causes rear turn signals to switch sides

I just noticed a problem with my 1998 GMC Sierra. Say I'm signaling left while driving, all lights indicate that I'll be turning left, but then as soon as I apply the brake my front lights will still be signaling left but my rear signal will switch to the other side, making it appear that I'll...
