    No starter action after flooding

On my Jeep ZJ Grand Cherokee, it literally washed all the oil oil out of the front axle - I drained out pure water. The transfer case and rear axle were 50:50 but the engine nd transmission are ok. On the Tahoe the front diff oil is all on the floor and the other fluids will probably be the...

    No starter action after flooding

Thanks. Fuses are ok but I was thinking about the jump lead/jumper cable trick. I just need to find an hour or so when I'm not trying to sort the flood damage inside my house (15" of water across the whole ground floor)

    No starter action after flooding

Who'd have thought it .....two feet of flood water in the desert? (Abu Dhabi). 1996 2 door Tahoe 5.7L ........after biblical amounts of rain fall 2 weeks ago, my Tahoe spent 2 days up to its floor level in flood water. The starter motor was under water for at least 24 hours buh there was no way...

Interior lights stay on 1996 Tahoe

The tailgate switch is operated by the glass part of the hatch, via a plunger on the right rear pillar, just above the metal drop down tailgate. I'll have another go at it with the plunger disconnected and see it that works

Interior lights stay on 1996 Tahoe

There's no evidence of an aftermarket alarm and I removed all the horrible interior LEDs and refitted incandescent bulbs. With all the LEDs removed, it still won't lock. I haven't yet tried it with all the incandescent bulbs removed as well

I don't have rear doors unless you mean the two-part tailgate

Interior lights stay on 1996 Tahoe

PS:. At the moment, I'm avoiding a flat battery by pulling the fuse (which also takes out the mirror adjustment). If I can't get it working properly, I'll just put an override switch into the power supply

Interior lights stay on 1996 Tahoe

Thanks for the replies , chaps, so here are the answers: 1) the over ride button is not in the over ride position - I've tried it both ways, several times. 2) the dimmer is not all the way up (got caught with that before on other vehicles :) ) Again, I've tried it in both positions. 3) the...

Interior lights stay on 1996 Tahoe

1996 Tahoe 2 door. My interior lights won't go out, and because of that (it seems) the remote central locking won't operate. This makes me think that the truck thinks that at least one door is open but, despite having fitted new door switches all round (and tried holding them closed) the...
