    What is this electrical device?

Looks like a circuit breaker that was used in the older battery chargers. In case you got the charger wires crossed, it would then reset once the conditions (proper polarity) was correct. Eventually it would fail and your charger stopped working. At least that’s my opinion, I maybe wrong.

BIZARRE end to the hunting/stumbling idle issue on my ‘95.

Did you happen to check out the linkage? On my 95 c1500 I noticed a bit of lag between pressing the pedal down and the carb opening up. This can give a bit of a surge when trying accelerate. Our old feet aren’t as responsive as they should be. Good luck.

1995 GMC C1500 engine cuts out then takes a few minutes to start. Pulling my hair out!

Mine did the same thing, coolant temperature sensor was bad. Also found the module in the distributor was going bad, heat sink paste was almost all dried up and it would shut down the spark. New distributor solved that.

Slight tick from AC Pump area C 1500 95, 350

Noises can be deceiving. What’s the best way to pinpoint the noise? I was going to get a long screw driver...

Slight tick from AC Pump area C 1500 95, 350

On start up I get a very slight ticking noise coming out of the AC pump area( I think). AC never used. Dumb question. Is there anything in there that I could change(bearing) without having to discharge the AC completely? The noise goes away after warmup, in a few minutes. Suggestions please.

Why are my Lo Beams burning out?

Just read your trouble with lights. Try getting an accurate amp draw on the individual bulb. Ammeter must be inline with the wiring. Then check that amp reading against the bulb specs to see if your not over drawing amps., or use ohms law and take the wattage and the voltage of the bulb and...
