I know it's been a little bit but thought I would give an update. It was the cheaper distributor cap crossfiring. Thing only had 5k miles on it. Learned my lesson. Thanks everyone who gave advice!
Didn't realize I had 2 accounts on here. Sorry for any confusion. I am the original poster.
Ok so I've got it figured out. And I misspoke. 1 and 8 were misfiring. 96 and 97 vs 98+ the number 1 and 8 injector wire pin locations are different at the computer pins. The manufacturer of my wiring harness was awesome and sent me file for both so I could look for diffenances. Thanks
So what happened, this is all in an 87 s10. I bought a stand alone harness from Howell efi for a 96 half ton. Motor is out of a 98 3/4 ton. Computer has been tuned, but my tuner said he needed a 98+ computer to work with his hp tuner. So I found a 99 computer. Everything works except 1 and 2...
So now it looks like those 2 cylinders aren't getting fuel. Would there be any wiring issues for the injectors with putting a 99 computer into a 96 wiring harness? If not then I guess next step is to pull the spider injection.
I have a motor out of a 96 chevy 3/4 ton. 5.7 vortec. Everything is stock except I put in a 99 Tahoe computer. Cylinders 1 and 2 are missfiring. Have spark, fuel pressure is fine, and holds after turning key off. All plug wires are in correct locations. All other cylinders seem to be doing what...
So looking around, there is alot of info to repin the harness if you are swapping from a 4l60e to a 4l80e. But what if your computer used to run a 4l80e and your harness is set up for a 4l60e? Is it possible that I just need to repin a few wires at the computer? You said one shift solenoid is...
I put a vortec 5.7 and its computer out of a 96 chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 into my s10. Motor and computer used to be connected to a 4l80e. I swapped in a 4l60e out of a 96 chevy 1/2 ton 2wd. Wiring harness is from Howell EFI for my application. Reflashed the computer and no codes or errors. Motor runs...
I have a motor out of a 1996 Chevy 2500 4x4 and want to bolt on a leftover 2006 4l65e out of a GTO. I'm trying to figure out what bellhousing to use, and if I will need a different flywheel than what the truck currently has. Truck was connected to a 4l80. Also will the TC from the GTO be fine...
