Well the coolant system pressuring tool was the ticket.
Found the leak running down behind the alternator.
Pulled the alternator and it's the intake gaskets and/or intake corrosion + heater core hose quick connect leaking.
Thanks for the help fellas.
Ok ya'll.
I'm working 12 hour night shifts and I work off Thursday night then I'll have 3 days to try and figure it out.
This is how I'm going to attack it:
Pull plugs and inspect.
Use the coolant system pressuring tool dealio.
Compression test.
If I'm still not getting results of a...
No wetness in the heater core area.
Is there a way to diagnose the intake manifold gaskets without pulling the intake?
I'm not seeing external leakage around the intake manifold.
Most everything I've read so far says I'd have water in the oil.
Will they leak without getting water in the oil?
Everyday before I leave for work Im having to check my coolant level.
Has been like this for 3 weeks or so.
Has always had a slow leak.
I pull the radiator cap and I can see down about 3 inches to the water line.
I can't find any obvious external water leaks.
My oil doesn't have any water...
^ x2.
Moog is indeed Moog no matter the price or retailer.
I rebuilt my whole, entire front suspension with Moog components that I purchased from rockauto.com.
All parts were in original Moog packaging and everything made by Moog has Moog stampings on the part itself.
I saw in another thread where someone said that they had done a SAS using the ford radius arms and coil spring setup.
I have a complete '76 ford F-100 that I was Goin to use the front axle out of.
If it is possible to use the coil spring suspension without tons of modification?
In this thread, on page 2 and 3, I see Tyler z28 talking about using factory ford radius arms and coil springs setup.
http://www.gmt400.com/forum/showthread.php?28603-Budget-SAS-swap-questions/page3
how much modification is required and what type of steering setup would be used to convert to a...
My donor truck has the 75.5-77 ford axle
"75.5-77 Ford low pinion drivers side open knuckle disc brake 30 spline inners, 19 spline outers, outer knuckle spindle pilot hole is smaller than 78+ axle and is therefore notched to allow 1480 series U-joint to pass through."
I'm not sure about all that...
Ok, thank you.
I've been looking into the diy4x.com components, not a personal preference bc I've never done a sas before, just come up during an Internet search.
I'd figure most do as well maybe that's why they call them conversion steering kits... I just wasn't sure.
I appreciate the input ya'll.
My Ford front axle actually has the trailing arms and coil springs.
so I'm not so sure if it's a candidate now.
is drivers side drop with factory disc brakes though.
When considering functionality of a taller tire, it is a great size.
not too big, not too little on many different levels.
3" body or 4" suspension on this tire looks best IMO.
I have a 3" body with the front cranked out to leveled stance.
