    Saint Louis

Anyone near STL looking for cash and want to put a motor into my 88 4x4? Old one will have to be pulled. I just can't afford shop rates for a job like this. I can help with heavy lifting or anything else needed. PM me of interested or if you have any ideas. I'm in too deep with this old girl and...

    air pump/smog pump delete

So it looks like the pulley that is already there will work on mine, an '88 silverado ext cab, long bed, 5.7. I just need to figure out the correct belt size now... I don't have cats so I don't need the air pump. I think it is making my belt squeak anyway. Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Air pump?

Haha ok. I'll have to do some research to learn more about this and see if I can maybe route my belt to avoid the air pump to get a little more gas mileage. Because using less gas helps the environment too, right!? And I don't have cats anyway [emoji2375] Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Air pump?

What does the air pump do? Pumps air obviously, but why? Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Air pump?

Maybe this should be in the sticky stupid engine thread?? Can a mod move or delete so I can repost there? Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Air pump?

So I'm looking for a serpentine belt and I don't know if I have an air pump. Honestly I've never heard of this part...what does it do, and does my '88 Silverado Extended cab long bed 5.7 have one?? Also, what's the best belt to use? I want to try to eliminate some squeaking that I don't know...

I want to replace the Moonie gauges in my 88

I'm sure the DDs with well, but cost is so darn high now! And they just look like a simple calculator screen. Not better looking than the moonies if you ask me...The jimmy gauges have some seriously cool looking 80-90s style Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

I want to replace the Moonie gauges in my 88

Digital Jimmy gauges...does anyone think this would be possible for an 88?? There's plenty available on ebay and a whole heck of a lot cheaper than the dakota ones....better looking too! Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Seat Release Cable

Update: removed the bench and found out that the seat will most likely need a new track mechanism. I will probably end up scouring the scrapyard for this part Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Anti theft steering column

I was thinking about installing an NRG removeable steering wheel kit on mine. Kind of hard to drive away with no wheel. Although my co-workers mentioned that a crackhead with a vice grip might be determined enough Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

Alrighty then, guess I'll shell out the dough for a new motor first then! Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Wiper pulse board

So...the wipers now change speeds properly after soldering, but won't go off without the jerry-rigged on/off switch the previous owner installed. Time to check the turn signal stalk next? Planning to head to the scrapyard tomorrow. Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Wiper pulse board

The solder was sticking to the tip, making it hard to use a smaller amount. I'll have to look up some better techniques on youtube. Thanks for the tips though! Sent from my SM-G781U using Tapatalk

    Wiper pulse board

Ok. Well, I bought a soldering iron from Napa because I have come across a few other online fixes involving one, so why not have one for next time right? Tried soldering. Have no idea what I'm doing, but I'll let you know if it worked! If it didn't, off to the scrapyard... Sent from my SM-G781U...
