4L60E Transmission struggling to shift into Overdrive?

so did you get the transmission inspected? What was found? Did they rebuild it? I hope it is better now for you!

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

I'm curious how to truly get 'cold' air into a 'cold air' intake. I can see the factory plumbing leads over to the passenger fender area but even the stock setup is not sticking into the fender area far enough to truly suck in only outside air. There is a fairly sizable gap into the engine bay...

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

So it appears folks here are not fans of custom cold air intakes...

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

yes, working on it. I can't make out the name on the 'turbo swirly thing' in the picture to google that. is it 'Kiraid'?

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

I think I can glimpse what they might call 'shorty headers' on the driver side where the manifold would be?

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

I'm going to show my ignorance but is a 383 a bigger small block engine size option? I'm thinking the work of replacing front and rear axle (sourcing the axle, probably used with the proper gears) and installing might be about as much work as getting the motor swapped? I have the 3.73 gears...

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

Yes, weighing options on a 350 swap. Not sure which shop nearby could do it and do it correctly. AT the same time it would make sense to either swap the transmission or have transmission rebuilt while it is out. Since (i'm learning) the 1995 year is a special year, I would prefer to find a...

Any way to enable control over the drive-overdrive shift point?

I'm trying to get used to my shift points and understand how to deal with the odd situation where after 3rd gear there is what seems to be a two gear in one option called drive/overdrive? There is a D with a block O for overdrive around it on the shifter dial. When pulling a light trailer on...

    A/c compressor leak?

Can you suggest where the typical leaks are found (mine is 1995)? and a better black light? I'm using a large blacklight mounted in a fluorescent tube like setting but the picture above shows a great UV GLOW going on! My system lasts 3-4 weeks after a charge. It is cool so don't run the AC...

    Water pump and thermostat

Returning to report success with the water pump install and thank you for your help. I did require the CCW rotation pump. Thanks to some youtube advice I was ready for the challenging parts. Getting the factor bung out of the top hole proved very difficulty. Since this is a temporary plug I...

305 tbi to 350 tbi swap

willy, if you are still checking messages, and if you did the swap can you update us with how it went and if it was worth the effort and cost to gain what you were looking to gain? Thanks

    Water pump and thermostat

mbowman suggest I take my thermostat out, close the housing back up, run the engine to dislodge all the junk. I assume I'm doing this while having a drain open somewhere and adding fluid at the same time? It would seem to make more sense to do that with the current 'old' water pump in place yet...

    Water pump and thermostat

Quick followup question. I have a 1995 Chevy 305 with gasket visibly sliding out from behind the water pump and a slow weep. I'm reading about several brands here but can't find online or local parts store. The AC-Delco lists a clockwise (251-725 which does not seem like a true AC-Delco part...

spraying rear diff oil after new driveshaft

RShrimp, yes I started with the Dorman 697-500 as I wanted to use straps and bolts to secure the U joint. I saw another Dorman advertised to 'fit' that had an option for U bolts to go around the U joint caps but I would assume the center hub and seal size would be same between those two units...

spraying rear diff oil after new driveshaft

Thanks to all for your helpful advice. As soon as the truck got home I took it apart underneath. Oil was clearly coming down from the bottom of the yoke from under the flange or dust cover thingy. I loosened the nut, took off the yoke and could see the seal was damaged underneath. The rubber...
