I am fairly certain the MAP sensor failed. Found another trouble shooting diagnostic that sensor middle terminal should produce around .5V with the key on not running. Mine was producing close to 5V which is the same as the supply voltage. I replaced it and it hasn't stalled yet. I'll give...
Truck has been running fairly well. Always had a bit of miss at idle that I've exhausted all resources diagnosing. Now it's started to die at idle and it throwing a code 33. The scanner shows the sensor seems to be working. The scanner shows in park at idle the map pressure is around 40KPA...
I don't know how much different a 99 is but I just did this on a 95. I kept the original master cylinder. I pulled the fuse on the ABS. I found the activation wire for the dash light and wired it into the switch on the combination valve. The light is activated by a path to ground. By the...
I believe it will be similar. Basically, I used the OE master cylinder with a combination valve that was probably originally designed for a car from the 70's.
The front portion of the master cylinder operates the back brakes. The back of the proportioning valve is the back brake side. So to do it correctly the lines must cross.
It's the plug circled in blue. There are only 2 wires. If you take a multimeter and check continuity to ground. It's the one that doesn't have continuity to ground. Also, you can use a test light. If the test light comes on that's the correct wire. You can also have someone just watch the...
I just went out and found the wire to hook to the switch. It's a 2 wire plug ground one side out and the light will come on. Wire that side to the switch. The other poster is right. You will loose front or rear brakes before the light comes on.
I got it from Summit SUM-760182. There are probably cheaper options. I bought it because it came with the bracket and I thought the tubing would be a drop in. The tubing wasn't.
I haven't hooked it up yet. I found the old pressure switch on the ABS. It consist of 2 wires. I just need to figure out how to trigger the dash light. I'll look at that tomorrow
