This is probably the route I am going to take. But I also like to do things that people say not to waste time on. My last car was a 2005 Dodge Stratus with the dreaded 2.7L V6. I did some mods and it went from a slow little cruiser to something with a little pep and a sound system that rattled...

Thanks for all your info and help guys. I've been a bit busy with the ol' 9-5 and haven't had a chance to look at anything. If I were to take a guess the rear is not a 3.73 gear. I'll take a look when I have some down time. The last time I did some highway driving was before I got the new motor...

What all do I need to swap the gears in the rear end? If you have some part #'s or links I and a few other newbies would surely appreciate it. I'm going to do some research of my own and see what I can find. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for your answers. I'm staying with the 305 for now since it is basically brand new and ate my savings acct with the new motor and install. I'm not saying a 350 swap is not completely off the table though, but it is not doable atm. All the local truck guys around here are holding on to...

I have an 1989 GMC Sierra 2WD with the 305 TBI (not Vortec). It's a SCLB. I bought the truck from some guy who was going to strip it for parts for another truck but he ran into some interchangeability issues and changed his mind before he even got into it. Anyway the engine threw a rod on me...
