Wondering How To Wire In My New Voltmeter

Hey guys, i recently got in this volt meter/ ammeter andnim wondering how i should wire it in, if i should have it hooked directly to the battery or another 12v source in the cab. Volts is just power and ground. Amps is different depending on the gauge.
I always remembered them being like this...
