Got a 98 gmc c1500 looking to throw some 30 inch rims on it. I wanted to see if they could just be bolted on or do you have to do some cutting in the front?
Do you mean 30 inch rims/ wheels or 30 inch tall tires. Cause if you want 30 inch whatever metal rims your way out of our league. My stock K2500 has 31.6 inch tall tires.
They'll fit with a lift. A 265/20/30 is a little over 34" in diameter. That sidewall is so short that you'll be pretty well guaranteed to bend rims.
A 265/30/30 is better, but 2" bigger in diameter.
That's still not enough sidewall for me, but I didn't look to see if a 35 series tire was an option.
The big question is why? If you really want your truck to ride like a lumber wagon, put wooden wheels on it. 30's will fit with a 6" lift and rubber bands for tires, it is stupid as you will be spending 3-4k per wheel and 500-1k per tire. And for what? A ****** handling truck.
Why bag a dually?
Why spend 15k making a truck faster when you could buy a Vette?
Why a supercharged obs to pull with when you could buy a newer diesel?
His truck, his money, his choices.
I'm just trying to help...
Biggest overall size in inches is 32-33” inches including the tires not sure how wide a 30” rim is but if bye 9” as long as you get a tire that’s less than 12” wide I’d say they may just bolt on I have 20x9 wheels and 32.5 tires
