Whining noise.

Sounds like my cousins 70 Torino. Only way he could get it to spin a wheel was was do a full throttle reverse then drop it in low without lifting. Remember those old 250 Fords with the integral head? Yup,couldn't blow that POS up.

I’m amazed at all the transmissions we didn’t explode. Floored in D, dropped in R(helleva reverse burnout too) and back into drive. What kids did when iPhones didn’t exist!

Sorry everyone it's a 97 suburban with the 5.7l vortex and a freshly rebuilt 4l60 trans

How fresh. Did it do this before the transmission was rebuilt. Right after? Need more info. Did you ever pull the belt and start it. That’s where I would start

Does the sound change when ac is turned on and off?

Kinda sounds liķe really low possibly out of powersteering fluid or the pumps burning up. Im no expert but i have heard that b4 and it was powersteering related
