I have a friend with a 1998 chevy 1500 and he wants to regear and put lockers in the front and rear. Hes running 38s so were thinking 4.56 gears. I was just wondering where you guys get your parts like this from? thanks

Bought mine from randys ring and pinion. Unless he is sas'd he wont be able to get a locker for the front.

and if he's running 38's i'd go bigger than 4.56. i thought there was a locker for the 2500-3500 front diff?

But he has a 1500 so it doesn't matter anyways. What does he need lockers for? If he does lockers front and rear he is just asking to break stuff on a 1/2 ton. Also I would go with 5.13s which I think is the deepest you can go on the front anyways.

Any kind of offroading on a 1500 IFS with 38s and you're going to break with or without lockers. Absolutely NO point to lock the front. Do an SAS and get it over with.
