vortec 062 heads....?

im running .490 lift with just a springs change.

Yep! That's just about the limit on lift. The parts & work required to run anything over .500, plus having to live with that cam in a DD is not worth the effort. Saturday night special, sure! Strip car, yes! But not a DD.

I've successfully run .510 lift on stock 062 heads with a spring and retainer change.

Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that a cam over .500 can't be run. I was thinking more about living with something like that on a daily basis. And what I know about the o62 heads could probably be written on the head of a pin. I was just speaking about SBC's in general without roller cams. Either way, I'll just shut my fithering gob, now!

I daily drove mine, but yeah, it was a vortec motor, so roller cam and everything like that.

the 107 LSA of my cam makes it non-DD friendly, even though i did all summer
