truck won't shift out of 1st gear while in 4lo

My truck won't shift out of 1st but it only happens in 4lo, 4hi 2hi are fine. Is there a switch somewhere for when you shift into 4wd to tell the computer it's in 4lo?

I believe it is on the inside of the shift lever, outside the case, ********* plastic thing held on W/ 2 13mm headed bolts and the lever.

The tcase switch I have threads into the tcase...it's not bolted on.

Tomorrow I will be under there to see whats there and hit the dealer for a new one.

ya you are right I am thinking of my pushbutton TC. depending on your year look for switches like Woody said

There's a t-case position sensor on the case. If it's not hooked up or you can't hook it up you have to find the ground wire to the TCCM and ground it out by switch when you switch into 4lo.
