Tow Mirror Question

So I ended up buying loaded black 99-02 mirrors and no frills 88-98 toes and swapped the bases. I could not find loaded black mirrors for the 88-98, only chrome. I didn't want to paint if I didn't have to. Plan is to sell the no frills mirrors equipped with 99-02 bases locally.

Here is a quick photo of it temporarily mounted. Will do final mount and wiring once paint work and lift is done.

They sell them already made to fit our trucks. I did buy a set of fully loaded GMT800 mirrors and swapped bases to the GMT400 style, so I could get heated glass which wasn't offered in the GMT400 base.


Here are black ones in GMT400, although I have never seen them in power or I would have bought them to begin with.

I see they do sell a fully loaded set for GMT800 now, which you could swap bases with and use to get the options you want.

That is what I did with mine, took them apart and painted the caps gloss black.
