It's a 1991 I have the jeep shaft upgrade the front end is greased pretty regularly. Ill check my power steering fluid. Figured if it was the pump or something it would do it all the time not just right after it had been sitting awhile. Thanks for all the suggetions though guys.

it probably would be the seals within the pump leaking so it wouldnt build pressure as easily to help turn.... actually going over powersteering today in college and in lab lol

iirc when my dad had the problem in his 03 yukon, one time he had the wheel turned and started to go and the truck lost pwr steering then as we were driving it came back, then we lost it again, checked the fluid. and added some and it never happened again (this was a yr or so ago)
