you can take the limiters off btw. ive gotten a few tbi trucks way up there before.

From the factory 88-92 chevy's with a 700R4 had no rev limiter, and 93 and up with the computer controlled 4L60E do have a top speed cutoff, at least this is how all of mine have been, I have owned 15-20 OBS trucks that were all this way, but like mentioned the top speed cutoff is removable.

yeah with a stick shift that has an almost 6-1 first gear.... its easy to let the RPMs get away from you and see the needle go to 5.... or more if youre not careful...
when I rebuild this engine its getting a smarter, better distributor with a rev-limiter built in...

(once in my jeep, the floor mat got stuck on the gas pedal, flooring it.... I had no idea of this when I got in and started it....if it was not for the rev-limiter on that 1995 port injected dodge 318 im sure it would have blown up... it took me almost 5 seconds to realize WTF was happening LOL!!!)

build it with a nice forged lower end!
