Taxing Tachometer install ?

I'm trying to a in dash tachometer in my 88 Blazer. Using LMC parts, but I'm not sure this is going to work out. It would have to go where the gas tank gauge is. Is it possible or am I just looking for trouble.

I took an Autometer tach gauge in a pod and used a big hose clamp to mount it on the steering column. It blocks the oil pressure gauge, but I'm not to worried about that one running a new crate motor.
