Smooth stepside bed rail?

Anyone ever fill the body line on the boxside? I know I've seen the tie downs filled in. I'm just curious if it would crack down the road?

I've done just that when I grafted in rails from a fleet side. I used mar glass (fine fibreglass filler) then I use regular body filler to finish ... it won't crack.. but it will shrink.. because of the amount needed to fill that space in ... so leave it for a month or so before trying and final painting
