has anyone swapped a sm465 behind a vortec on here? looking to swap out my monster trans for a 4 speed

I just put a nv4500 behind mine. Any particular reason you do not want a overdrive?

dont need OD and my brand new trans is having issues...again. and nv4500's cost more than i bought my truck for up here lol

I understand the "new trans having issues" thing. My last auto lasted less than 1000 miles. I bought a whole truck with no engine, nv4500, transfer case, and 14b ff rear end (8 lug 3/4 ton 4x4) for $1000. Built it into the truck i have today. (my signature needs updated)

yeah im on my second one from monster transmissions. im gonna fix the problem then try to sell it

I have one for sale now. 3-4 clutch pack is bad.

Thats what happened to my first one. rear planetary ring gear after a 1-2 shift on the rev limiter in the mud.

why? because they suck lol real problem now is in the valve body i have the po1870 code so i was just gonna buy the transgo shift kit to fix the problem

W/ a low 1st and high geared rear w/ big tires you shouldn't need od. If you happen on an nv4500 later then so be it
