Slightly smoked stock taillights

I'm looking to smoke my stock taillights, but I don't want them too dark does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this and pics would be great also!! Thanks

Vht night shades. Just poo em off and spray them. Light coats until you get what you want.

I used vht niteshade on mine, I cleaned mine with windex before I sprayed it on

EDIT: I would suggest clear coat after you get the desired tint

I also did mine with vht. I wet sanded the lights first and then did 2 coats of night shades and like 4 or 5 coats if clear. Then wet sanded the clear and buffed with meguirs ultra compound I think it was called.

The pics make then look darker than they really are.

Plastidip also works, won't transmit light as well as vht

I've done the VHT stuff a few times, it's ok. I've liked using the Vinyl film as opposed to the spray, so much more uniform, much better light transmission when on....

I had no idea you could do that. I bet it comes out way nicer and like you said more uniform due to no possible overspray.
