SBC to BBC Swap Worth it?

Hello, I currently have a mid 70s (I think) 350 in my 88' c1500 W/T which is my daily. I recently bought a built 700R4 for it as well to have the OD for highway fuel millage. I came across a carbureted 90-91' 454 casting number 10069286 for under $1,500CAD, and was wondering if a swap would even be worth it? I wouldn't be putting a whole lot of money into it, just some basic stuff like headers and maybe a cam. Not interested in making huge power yet, but definitely interested in more tq than my 350.

Do it! Put a small cam in there before ypu put it in and new pan gasket at the same time. It will be a whole new truck!

I've read mixed threads about the drop-in-ability of a 454. I am assuming I will need engine mounts and stiffer springs? Anything else?

It'd be a low-RPM torque monster my man.

I'd throw a small cam & the L29 Vortec heads on it. Should wake it up a reasonable amount.​
