I just replaced my engine due to the previous one being locked up. I did all the work myself and started it up yesterday. Now it has a rough idle and won't stay running unless you keep your foot on the gas pedal. I was told it was a timing issue. How do I correct this? This is my first solo engine swap.

Also could it be a vacuum leak? If so where do all the hoses run? It has been a while since I took them off and everything. I doubt this matters, but while taking the drivers side manifold off two of the bolts broke. They were in there good, so now I have an exhaust leak. Doubt the two are related but I was gonna throw that out there.
