I know the best way would be to open it up, but not just there yet. This is a np246 on a 98 tahoe. Other pictures ive seen they either have hex bolts with a cover of some kind or a hex bolt with some inverted shroud thing. Does this having 12 point bolts likely indicate either a rebuild or at least a pump saver maybe. Not looking for a definitive answer just if other people have seen factory 12 point bolts on their transfer case
