Question about possible turbo for my 7.4

I have a 1998 k3500 with the vortec 7.4l and its pretty much bone stock. A friend of mine is putting a 62mm turbo on his 5.9 cummins, and told me if I can make it work on my vortec then he would just give me the stock 57mm holset turbo off his motor. I have never done any turbo work so my question for anyone who would know, will this turbo work or is it too big for this motor? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There's someone else here that added a turbo to their 7.4l. You should be to do some searching and find their thread. It was extensive, including troubleshooting wires, spark plugs, etc. Good luck!
