Since I'm keepin my truck at stock height while I'm DDing it I figured I'd start laying out my console till today when I stumble on a thread on GMFS (when I find it I'll post it) about converting to console shift so it looks like I'll have to wait till I 6.0/80e swap before I can do it. After y'all talking about the IPads I might have to do that also. lol

This sound's interesting, Id like to see it.

Yeah I don't see why it couldn't be modified, it will look great!

I think so, I'd like to get it to look similar (geared more towards our body style) to the F150 console...

I'm not big on the look of a boot so with the console dropped over top of it with the use of a roller pin tapped into the shaft and sheet metal sleeve I think it'd work.

Yeah that will look real good, are you going to color match the console to your truck, I think that would look awesome!

My interior is stock tan/leather so I have a lot to play with, I'm going to do glass components in the lower portion of the door, colormatched trim, and suede headliner, so part of the console will be smoothed and painted vic red, while the majority will be stock textured, I want to keep it looking stock even though it'll be obviously modified. It'll be similar to my friends D-Max, with out the wall and fewer speakers.

The pictures are off FaceBook so if you can't see them I'll just PM you them.

Man he's really done some work there, I like that, it sounds like you have good plan for your interior. I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but my interior is going to be two tone grey and black, kinda like the reverse of the old hot rod theme where they did red interior with black paint, I am doing all victory red outside with a smoothed and painted shiney black dash, center console, overhead console, and various other interior trim pieces, black leather seat's with grey microsued inserts, also black microsuede on the door insert's and headliner.

Its such a rough sketch right now that it looks like I spent 2 minutes on it... I think the angle right under the radio and ac controls is about a 24 degree angle. It will turn into a fab it as I go type thing to figure out how I want the angles to be, but I'm going for this style of a console.

Burgundy suede wrapped, with probably black or charcoal inserts to more or less match the dark inner portion of the factory dash.

9.5" wide is about the sweet spot to fit between the seatbelt mounts and the factory seat armrests.
Approx 45" length and Approx a 15" Maximum height.

Thats the other part of my inspiration, I want it rounded on the corners, mimicking the later OBS interior as well.

The fitment is nice, except I want it to go up and meet the bottom of the dash trim bezel, so I can relocate the AC and single DIN radio down into it, and no shifter in mine.

Yeah I really like them both, but I want mine to be similar to the first one, except smooth and painted.
